Layout of the Month

I've been tinkering with this layout for weeks. Then I said to myself, "enough already, post the stinkin' layout!" So here's our latest layout of the month, featuring the Mix & Mend collection from Sassafras Lass.

I wanted to focus on working with paper that is already super detailed. How can you make the most of the detail, add your own texture and twist and still add pictures? We'll I never made it to the pictures part...but there is space for them on this layout...one 5x7" & two 4x6". Here are more details of the project.

Learn how to make this layout on Sunday, March 27th or Tuesday, March 29th.
Drop - In, Anytime, All day; $20

Please bring your basic tool kit!

Customer Creations #4

Melet Horne stops by the shop almost every week and is begging me to open an online shop so she can continue shopping when she and her family move out of the area in a couple months. She says she hasn't been happy with the quality of things she finds on other online stores, but knows my things will worth it!
Here are some of her creations.

These two layouts feature paper from MME Breaking Free Collection.

I love what she did with the Glitz products!

Here she combines Chic Bebe from GCD Studios with Bungle Jungle from Sassafras Lass...very nice!

and last but not least here's a great one featuring Sassafras Lass...see you can scrapbook with busy paper!
Great job Melet! And we'll see about that online store!

Spring Card Collection

Creativity is a funny, funny thing. I find myself going through moments where I don't feel even slightly inspired. Then, when you least expect it, creativity dawns and you just can't stop it.

That's how I felt yesterday. It was really slow at the shop and I was doing a lot of busy work. At the end of the day, literaly 6:45, I picked up the new magazine that arrived Card Trends and started to thumb through it.

Some paper caught my eye and I thought...I have that design...I could do that card. So I whipped one out, then another and then I went home. Enough of this...Dinner and Ugly Betty is calling. But I woke up at 3am with more ideas and dove in again when I arrived at the shop.

Here are the results....

So I hadn't planned on doing any spring card classes, but creativity has spoken. So here's the deal. Call me and make an appointment to come in and make any or all of these cards.

Each design is $10 each. You'll have enough supplies to make 3 cards of the same design. Please no subsitutions.

Glimpses from CHA #2...Feelin' a bit Sassy

I just love Sassafras Lass. It's modern and vintage all at the same time. So ecclectic and so fun to work with. Don't let the bold prints dissuade you. You can make really lovely layout with their prints!

Vintage Yummy is Shipping in mid February.

This annimated display was part of the booth. Isn't if fun?!?

Bungle Jungle is shipping in mid March & is a lovely zoo print but versatile enough for boys!

Check out the Sassafras Lass blog for up close photos of the papers and the embellishments. I've also ordered coordinating brads & paper whimsies. And I reordered the dear and owl prints from our last collections.

Also, do me a favor...check out the Anthem Collection and let me know what you think. I couldn't decide at the show. Post your reaction to it and let me know if we should get it or not...

Basic Grey sneak peeks tomorrow...
