Last week, I got a wacky idea....why don't I enter a design challenge? It's not as if I don't have enough to do with the shop. But still, this is for me, something fun to do for a change. (For those of you not familiar with the term...designers for various scrapbook companies often host contests through their blogs, using set sketches and other guidelines).
Since I love My Mind's Eye and just got the entire CHA Winter Release in...I visited their blog to see what the scoop was. I found they were in the middle of their Sketch #8 contest and I still had a chance to submit!

This was the sketch provided which could be flipped or tweaked but still needed to be recognizable. The other rule was to use pinks & or red and 80% My Mind's Eye product. I added a 3rd rule of my own...HAVE FUN & DON'T OBSESS!

Here's my version of the sketch....
featuring the brand new papers & accessories from My Mind's Eye's Lush Collection.
I lined each layer of paper blocks with a thin piece of chipboard to create a little bit of dimension. The polka dot paper & some of the die cuts are inked in Warm Red from Colorbox. The damask print and the daisy print come flocked from MME...so velvety soft!
Here are some close ups on the details. The die cuts are layered with multiple pop dots. I used Tombow vellum adhesive for the journaling box.
The title are flocked letters from Lush and the finishing details are rhinestone brads, also from Lush.

Lush has been so popular so far! Can't wait to see what you create with this fabulous collection. For other ideas and to participate in other design challenges, check out the My Mind's Eye Blog.

What a gorgeous LO, Lush certainly looks better in action! (who knew it could have looked better right???)
Thanks! You're right...the challenge with goregeous papers like these is that you don't want to cover them up. It's fun to see what you can do with them and still capture their essence!
Gorgeous! Love that Lush paper.
