Repair Update #3 & SEI Preview

So today has left me pondering one of the great mysteries of life...why repaint AFTER the new carpet was installed. I don't know, but the unexpected treat is that the entire store is being repainted, not just the affected area. By the time this is over the shop is going to look brand spankin' new!

Speaking of new...new releases from SEI are on the way to the shop! I have been so excited for these two collections to come in and they will be hear in time for our high holy day, National Scrapbook Weekend, May 1-3.

The first is En Route which is one of the best travel collections I have seen in years! You can't really tell here, but the paper has foil details that make it classically stunning! Here are a couple glimpses of papers & embellishments...

The 2nd collection is Mimosa which is just undescribably beautiful. Again it's hard to tell in these pictures but the papers are specialty with foil, glitter, shimmer, etc.

Repair Update #2

Lots of progress today and the great news is I'm very relaxed! But, let me let you know about how compulsive I can be at times. I walked in the shop today, and had to FIGHT the urge to vacum the carpet that was only minutes from being removed. You should be happy to know that I resisted this temptation. Maybe there is hope for me yet!

The old carpet was removed in no time at all!

Meanwhile, here's my view in the backroom while I'm on the phone with attorneys, merchant services, insurance, vendors, etc. Good times!

And here is the money shot...

The new carpet is so pretty! And yes, there is a new carpet smell! Tomorrow they finish things up, dry wall repair, painting, etc. We're on track to move back in in Thursday and be open again Friday morning. Whaa HOO! I miss you all.

All I wanted to do was pop all this bubble wrap!

Thankfully, everthing isn't far...just down the way in an empty store...

The paper racks on the move!

The Newest Member of the Color Spot Wall

Dotted Swiss from Bazzill Basics Paper on Vimeo.

Dotted Swiss made it's debut yesterday on the Color Spot wall at the shop. Available in 30 beautiful colors, Dotted Swiss is best described as a monochromatic embossed polka dot paper. Since I'm a sucker for polka dots and this collection is a "must have," I've brought it to the shop for you.

I don't have audio on this computer, so I can't hear the video, but I'm sure it's awesome!

Don't blow away in this blustery weather!

Sneak Peak Of New Basic Grey

The brand new release from Basic Grey was shipped late last week so I'm expecting it Wednesday or so. Plus, I cleaned out the back room today and found my sample pack of paper and the idea cards so I whipped out some sample layouts.

This one features the vibrant collection called Lime Rickey. Don't ask, I have no idea what a Lime Rickey is. They said it was inspired by soda pop. Anyhow it's a super fun collection, very bright, perfect for kids, summer, parties, etc!

This one features the collection called Wisteria. I had to admit that the idea card on this one had seemed a bit much. But it really worked out and I LOVE it!

This will be the May Layout of the Month!

This will be the June Layout of the Month.

Repair Schedule Changed

Hi - it's me again...

There's been a delay in the re-carpeting so I will not be closed for repairs the week of the 13th. It's tentatively rescheduled for the week of the 20th...

Sigh...

When in doubt...craft

So, as you can imagine it's been really stressful this weekend dealing with the flood stuff and insurance and construction planning, etc. So today, I decided to craft. I usually reserve craftiness for the weekend, but it was needed today!
Here are today's results.

The first is a "Trunk Kit" from Tattered Angels. The class is $25.00 and was supposed to be offered April 16th. If I don't have the class on the 16th, it will be on the 30th.

The time slots for the class are:
10:30-12:30
1:30 - 3:30
5:30 - 7:30

The second project I worked on isn't for a class, but just for fun...It's the mini book case and mini albums from Kaisercraft. I used the Esther's Guestlist Collection from Kaisercraft as well as the coordinating epoxy brads and a sheet of the new rub-ons. The bookcase can hold 12 books which make a great "book-a-month" scrapbook idea. But, be on the watch for a recipe swap with this project later in the summer....

I may not re-carpet next week, but wait until the following week. I'll keep you posted! More craftiness tomorrow!
